Agartala, December 3, 2025: A tragic accident claimed the life of farmer Sanjib Das (40) while loading harvested paddy onto a vehicle at Gobinda field in Sabroom.

The incident quickly drew the attention of the Chief Minister, who directed the South District Magistrate to extend all necessary support to the bereaved family. Acting on the instructions, the Additional District Magistrate and Senior Deputy Magistrate visited the deceased farmer’s residence on Wednesday to offer condolences.

To meet urgent needs, the administration provided ₹10,000 in financial assistance to Das’ wife for funeral expenses. Officials assured that the government’s support would not be limited to immediate relief but would continue in the future as required.

The accident has cast a shadow of grief over the local community, with residents mourning the sudden loss of the farmer.
