Agartala, December 03, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday chaired the second meeting of the High-Level Task Force on Logistics Cost, Infrastructure and Connectivity for the North Eastern Region, held in virtual presence of Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya M. Scindia along with Chief Ministers and senior ministers of other Northeastern states.
During the deliberations, Dr. Saha stressed the urgent need to strengthen multi-modal connectivity, cut down logistics costs and fast-track infrastructure projects in order to unlock the region’s economic potential. He said enhanced connectivity would play a pivotal role in boosting trade, tourism and investment in the Northeast.
Highlighting Tripura’s ongoing and upcoming initiatives in road, rail, air and inland waterways, the Chief Minister underlined the importance of coordinated planning and joint execution by state governments and central agencies to achieve faster results.
Union Minister Scindia appreciated the proactive initiatives undertaken by various Northeastern states and reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to improving connectivity and accelerating development in the region.
The meeting also took stock of progress made on major infrastructure projects, identified existing bottlenecks and discussed effective strategies to ensure the timely implementation of priority works aimed at better integrating the Northeast with national and international trade corridors.
Senior officials from concerned departments and representatives of the Northeastern states took part in the meeting.
