Manipur: DC Bishnupur Flags Off IDPs For Resettlement At Waroiching, Hands Over ₹16.5 Lakh To SHGs

Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, today flagged off Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from the Leimaram High School Relief Camp for their resettlement at Leimaram Waroiching, under the jurisdiction of Nambol Sub-Division at Village No. 27-Sadu Koireng.

 

Speaking at the gathering before the departure, the DC noted that the day marks a significant and meaningful moment as many IDPs are finally able to return to their homes. She described the return as a positive step towards building a better and more peaceful society.

Pooja Elangbam informed that the Government has already released financial assistance to families returning to Waroiching to support the reconstruction of their abandoned houses. She added that the next instalments of assistance will be issued soon. Reaffirming the Government’s commitment, the DC stated that Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) support will continue for all individuals returning home today.

As part of the programme, the Deputy Commissioner also distributed cheques amounting to ₹16.5 lakh to various Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
