Manipur Police have registered five cases across Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kakching districts following threats issued by G5 insurgent groups against Sumang Leela artistes and other performers who took part in the recently concluded Manipur Sangai Festival 2025.

Investigations are currently underway to identify all individuals involved and initiate appropriate legal action. So far, three cadres of the G5 have been arrested in connection with the cases.

Manipur Police reiterated that strict action will be taken against any attempt to intimidate performers or disrupt cultural activities and public events in the state.
