Itanagar, Dec 5: Three youths from the remote Aalo region of West Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh have successfully cleared the Indian Army’s Agniveer recruitment process, officials said. The selected candidates Jari Bagra, Toni Doji, and Yumper Nada will now report to the Assam Regiment Recruiting Office in Jorhat for formal enrolment.
Hailing from the villages of Along and Basar, the trio overcame challenges such as difficult terrain, limited training facilities, and scarce resources. Lt Col Mahendra Rawat, Defence PRO, lauded their determination and highlighted the Army’s continued mentorship and support for youth in border areas.
“Their success reflects the effectiveness of the Army’s programmes that provide structured guidance and personalised training even in remote locations,” Lt Col Rawat said.
In recent years, the Indian Army has strengthened outreach and youth engagement across Arunachal Pradesh to ensure defence career opportunities are accessible to isolated communities. A felicitation ceremony held on December 3 celebrated the youths’ achievement and aimed to inspire other local residents to consider careers in the military.
