Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Mamoni Doley, IAS, on Monday flagged off the Senapati Barak Half Marathon at the Astro Turf ground, marking a curtain-raiser event for the 4th Edition of the State Barak Festival 2025 under the theme “Run For Harmony”.

The programme was organised as part of Barak Festival 2025 in collaboration with the District Administration, Senapati Police, Indian Red Cross Society and the Senapati Medical Department.

Around 1,000 participants took part in the marathon across three categories — 5 km, 10 km and 21 km runs. Winners and runners-up in all categories were felicitated with medals and cash prizes. The prizes were sponsored by the State Bank of India under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. All participants were also given commemorative T-shirts and medals.

The half marathon aimed to promote fitness, unity and harmony, while strengthening bonds with nature and the local community.
