Itanagar, Dec 9: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said border villages in Arunachal and other parts of the country are now being recognised as India’s “first villages” under the Centre’s development approach. In a statement shared on X, he cited Mago village in Tawang district as an example of this shift, noting that recent improvements in infrastructure and essential services reflect the government’s increased focus on frontier regions.
According to Khandu, the initiative aims to enhance road connectivity, administrative access, and core services in high-altitude border settlements. He said communities living in these areas, once viewed as remote, are now being placed at the centre of development efforts, with their welfare treated as a priority.
Mago, located near the Tibet border and known for its difficult terrain, has recorded notable progress through ongoing infrastructure projects, bringing it under closer administrative attention and improving living conditions for residents.
