Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday inaugurated the TVS Credit Technology Centre in Guwahati, marking an important step under the Advantage Assam 2.0 initiative and an MoU signed in February 2025, officials said.
The newly launched centre is aligned with the Assam government’s objective of strengthening the state’s digital ecosystem and equipping youth with skills required for the digital economy. The Chief Minister said the facility is expected to enhance technology capabilities in Assam as well as across the Northeast.
The technology centre has been developed as a hub for TVS Credit’s work in artificial intelligence, automation and smart workflows. It is expected to train more than 200 young professionals for specialised technology roles and support key business functions including technology-driven collection systems, advanced AI models, loan origination and management platforms, and intelligent automation.
In the first phase, TVS Credit has recruited 25 technology professionals, with 21 already joining the centre and undergoing training on advanced digital projects. These professionals are involved in national-level digital initiatives serving customers across the country.
According to officials, TVS Credit plans to expand the Guwahati centre to over 200 skilled positions over the next three years. The expansion is aimed at creating sustainable employment, retaining local talent and strengthening Assam’s role in India’s technology landscape.
