A two-day National Seminar celebrating the life and legacy of renowned theatre personality and cultural icon Ratan Thiyam will be jointly organised by the Manipur State Kala Akademi, Imphal, and the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA), Imphal, from December 14 to 15, 2025.
The seminar will be held at the JNMDA Auditorium in Imphal. The Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, will attend as the Chief Guest and inaugurate the seminar on December 14 at 10:30 am.
The inaugural function will be presided over by Shri Longjam Joychandra, Vice-Chairman of JNMDA, while noted Indian poet and writer Dr Udayan Vajpeyi will grace the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
The seminar aims to reflect on and honour the immense contributions of Ratan Thiyam to Indian theatre and contemporary cultural discourse.
