Agartala, December 17, 2025 A devastating accident at a brick kiln in Kamalpur claimed the lives of three individuals and left four others injured on Wednesday triggering an outpouring of grief and prompting swift administrative action.
According to initial reports, the incident took place when the chimney of the ABC Brick Industry suddenly collapsed, trapping several workers beneath the debris. Three people died on the spot, while four others sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is currently being monitored by medical professionals.
Emergency response teams, including personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police, arrived at the scene promptly and launched rescue and relief operations.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy in a statement shared on social media. He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. The Chief Minister also directed the district administration to ensure proper medical care for the injured and provide necessary support to the affected families.
Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the chimney collapse. Authorities have assured that all necessary steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
