Agartala, December 19, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Friday asserted that the state and the country are fully equipped to deal with any emerging challenges, noting that border security arrangements have already been reinforced in view of the prevailing situation in neighbouring Bangladesh.
Addressing the media after attending an official programme in Agartala, Dr. Saha said instability has continued across the border since former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was compelled to leave the country. Referring to recent developments there, he remarked that the release and escape of criminals from prisons point to potential security concerns that need close monitoring.
The Chief Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio, said the Tripura government has been in constant communication with the Centre regarding the evolving situation. “Being an international issue, detailed inputs have been shared with the central leadership, and we are fully prepared to respond to any situation,” he said.
Dr. Saha further informed that joint security exercises involving the Indian Army were conducted recently to assess preparedness along the border. Emphasising coordinated efforts, he said border management and security measures have been significantly strengthened.
He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior officials at the national level are closely tracking the developments. “With advanced technology and coordinated security mechanisms in place, we are ready to handle any eventuality,” the Chief Minister said.
