Agartala, December 20, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the transformation of Tripura under the BJP-led government since 2018 and urged the people of Bengal to give his party a chance.
Addressing a virtual rally in Ranaghat, West Bengal on Saturday, PM Modi said that Tripura, once “ruined by communists for 30 years,” has moved forward after the Left’s exit, while Bengal continues to lag behind. “The people of Tripura gave us an opportunity, and we delivered development. Bengal too needs a government that can ensure rapid progress,” he remarked.
Calling for a “double-engine government” in West Bengal, the Prime Minister asserted that BJP would bring swift development if given the mandate. “Give BJP a chance. Allow us to form a double-engine government and see how fast development takes place,” he said.
Modi also criticized the current state of governance in Bengal, describing it as “jungle raj.” He assured that a BJP government would free the state from misrule and work wholeheartedly for its progress. “There is no shortage of will or funds for Bengal’s development,” he emphasized.
Drawing comparisons, Modi noted that while Tripura is advancing rapidly under BJP rule, Bengal has fallen further behind under the Trinamool Congress government. “The Left ruined Tripura for three decades. After their departure, Tripura is moving forward. But Bengal, after 34 years of Left rule, has been pushed back even more by the Trinamool,” he said, sharpening his attack on the ruling party in the state.
