Agartala, December 25, 2025: Tripura’s former Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb has expressed grave concern over the growing influence of fundamentalist groups in Bangladesh, warning that their actions could ultimately jeopardize the country’s very existence.

Speaking on the increasing persecution of minorities, Deb said extremist ideologies are eroding humanity and pushing Bangladesh towards destruction. “The activities of groups infected with fundamentalist thinking will, in the coming days, endanger the survival of Bangladesh itself,” he remarked.

The lawmaker pointed to the worsening situation following the death of Usman Bin Hadi, noting that attacks on minority Hindus have escalated. Reports of arson targeting homes and even brutal killings have surfaced, he alleged.

Deb further stated that the violent and divisive acts of these groups are not only destabilizing society but also severely impacting Bangladesh’s economy, which he described as deteriorating day by day.

He cautioned that those orchestrating attacks on minorities believe such actions will secure their own existence. “But in reality, these assaults will imperil Bangladesh’s existence,” he warned. Issuing a stern message, Deb added, “They think they will get away with attacking minorities. But no one will be spared.”
