Gangtok, Dec 30: Six young boxers from Sikkim, including three men and four women, will represent the state at the 9th Elite Men’s & Women’s Boxing Championship, scheduled from 4 to 10 January 2026 in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The women’s team comprises Yasika Rai (45–48 kg), Prava Gajmer (48–51 kg), Ritika Kri Gupta (51–54 kg), and Pema Ongmu Bhutia (70–75 kg), while the men’s team includes Pravin Chettri (60–65 kg) and Jayant Dagar (65–70 kg).

The contingent will be led by State Chief Coach Sandhya Gurung, a Dronacharya Awardee, supported by official Pritam Shilal and team manager Karan Chettri. The championship, organized under the Boxing Federation of India, will feature elite boxers from across the country.

The Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association wished the athletes success, expressing confidence in their performance and sportsmanship.
