Former Uttarakhand MP Tarun Vijay Meets Family of Murdered MBA Student in Tripura

Agartala, January 2, 2026: Former Uttarakhand Member of Parliament Tarun Vijay on Friday visited the family of Angel Chakma, the MBA student from Tripura who was brutally murdered in Dehradun. Vijay, who arrived in the state on Thursday, met the grieving family at their residence today to offer condolences.

Speaking to media personnel after the meeting, Vijay said his visit was solely to share in the family’s sorrow. “This pain belongs not only to Tripura but also to Uttarakhand. The people of Dehradun are deeply anguished by this heinous incident,” he remarked.

The former MP stressed the need for an impartial and thorough investigation, adding that exemplary punishment must be ensured for those responsible.

Angel Chakma’s tragic killing has sparked widespread outrage and mourning across Tripura. Civil society groups, student organizations, and political leaders have demanded swift justice, with the incident drawing reactions at the national level as well.
