Agartala, January 02, 2026: Tripura has rolled out two major initiatives aimed at strengthening its micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) framework.

Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma on Friday unveiled the Tripura RAMP Transport Incentive Scheme 2025 and the Tripura RAMP Partial Reimbursement of Loan Incentive Scheme 2025 at a ceremony in Pragna Bhavan, Agartala.

Chakma said the schemes are designed to ease financial burdens on entrepreneurs, particularly transport costs, and to encourage wider market participation. “MSMEs often face high expenses in moving goods outside the state. These incentives will help offset such costs and motivate entrepreneurs to expand their reach,” she noted.

Under the transport incentive, the government will reimburse 50 percent of expenses incurred in moving secondary raw materials and packaging materials from the seller’s nearest railway station to the buyer’s location. MSMEs participating in state and national fairs will also be eligible for 50 percent reimbursement of travel and transport costs, capped at ₹1 lakh per participation, with a maximum of two participations annually. International participation will require prior approval.

The Minister further outlined Tripura’s broader MSME roadmap for 2025, highlighting infrastructure development under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI), capacity-building workshops such as the Yashaswini Abhiyan to empower women entrepreneurs, and initiatives aimed at strengthening marketing and technology adoption.

She emphasized that the RAMP project, continuing for three years, aims to foster growth, enhance MSME contribution to GDP, and nurture model entrepreneurs.

Tripura’s RAMP scheme, part of a Central Government initiative, also integrates reforms such as digital adoption through MSME TEAM, circular economy practices under MSE SPICE, green technology promotion via MSE GIFT, and efficient dispute resolution through MSE ODR.

The launch event was attended by TIDC Chairman Nabadal Banik and senior officials of the Industries and Commerce Department, underscoring the state’s commitment to building a robust MSME ecosystem.
