Agartala, January 06, 2025: For the first time, the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) has set up a Migration Support Center in Bengaluru to assist newly placed candidates under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) scheme. The center will provide food and lodging for the initial days, ensuring a smoother transition for rural youth until they are settled in their new jobs.

TRLM CEO Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, along with Additional CEO and COO (Skills) Sankaraj Roy, COO Dipayan Ghosh, and the team inspected the infrastructure in Bengaluru today.

Coinciding with the initiative, TRLM organized an Alumni Meet in Bengaluru, bringing together youths from Tripura who have secured employment in the city. Many of these workers are now financially supporting their families back home, underscoring the impact of the program on livelihood augmentation.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Tanushree Debbarma, IAS, CEO TRLM Tarit Kanti Chakma, COO Program Dr. Dipayan Ghosh, COO Skills Dr. Sankaraj Roy, State Mission Managers from Tripura, COO Karnataka, and the Regional Director of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

During the program, COO Skills Sankaraj Roy and COO Program Dipayan Ghosh felicitated participants with Risa (traditional Tripuri attire) and bags, symbolizing recognition of their achievements.

TRLM’s DDU-GKY scheme has already incurred an expenditure of Rs 93 crore towards training and placement of rural youth. The initiative focuses on equipping individuals aged 15–35 with market-driven skills, sustainable employment opportunities, and career progression. It also integrates with national campaigns such as Skill India, while prioritizing disadvantaged groups.

The Migration Support Center and Alumni Meet reaffirm the Tripura Government’s commitment to empowering rural youth, ensuring their successful integration into urban workplaces, and strengthening the bridge between skill development and livelihood security.
