Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein, on Monday chaired a meeting to finalise plans for the 80th Commemorative Celebration of the end of World War II. The event will be held alongside the Pangsau Pass International Festival 2026, from January 20 to 22.
Pangsau Pass, a key World War II route that includes the historic Stilwell Road (also called Ledo Road), will host the celebrations. The programme aims to honour the sacrifices made during the war and reflect on the lessons of history.
The observance will combine remembrance with cultural festivities, showcasing Arunachal Pradesh’s role in global history. It will also promote peace, reconciliation, international friendship, cultural exchange, and tourism, serving as a tribute to the past and a reaffirmation of commitment to future cooperation.
