Itanagar, Jan 10: The North Eastern Council (NEC) released funds for multiple development projects in Arunachal Pradesh in 2025, covering healthcare infrastructure, road connectivity, tourism facilities, livelihood initiatives, and education-related exposure programmes.

In December 2025, NEC disbursed Rs 4.24 crore for priority projects in the state. These include the construction of a nursing hostel at Yingkiong district hospital in Upper Siang district, a maternity and child care centre at Miao in Changlang district, and improvement works at Tissa View Point near Tissa Camp in Tirap district. The projects are aimed at strengthening healthcare services and supporting tourism-related infrastructure.

Under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS–Roads), NEC allocated Rs 13.50 crore for road connectivity projects. The funding supports the construction of the 21-km Murung Gika to Panior Bridge Point road via Sarchgai, Mate, Kusuk, and Pan in Papum Pare district, and the Bana EAC to Richukrong headquarters road in East Kameng district. According to officials, the projects are expected to improve connectivity for around 19,500 residents across 15 villages.

NEC also supported a livelihood project worth Rs 2.60 crore under the industries sector, which has been completed. The initiative focused on training migrant workers who returned to the state during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the objective of promoting self-employment and reducing migration.

In the education sector, students from Arunachal Pradesh participated in the NE-SPARKS programme, under which they visited Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) centres in Bengaluru to gain exposure to space science and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers.

Overall, NEC released Rs 76.78 crore across Northeastern states in December 2025 for projects related to infrastructure, livelihoods, education, and other sectors, as per official data.
