Security forces arrested a 32-year-old man along with a large quantity of heroin in Churachandpur district on January 13, 2026, police said.
The accused, identified as P.K. Shektak, a resident of Pearsonmun in Churachandpur district, was apprehended from Lamzang village under Churachandpur Police Station limits.
During the operation, security personnel recovered 220 soap cases containing heroin from his possession. A four-wheeler Bolero bearing registration number MZ 01G-1142, allegedly used in the transportation of the contraband, was also seized.
Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the narcotics and possible links with larger drug trafficking networks operating in the region.
