PM Modi To Lay Foundation Of Kaziranga Elevated Corridor During Assam Visit

Guwahati, Jan 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Guwahati on Saturday for a two-day visit to Assam, his second visit in less than a month. On Saturday evening, he will witness a performance of the Bodo folk dance Bagurumba by 10,000 artists at the Arjun Bhogeswar Barua Sports Stadium.

On Sunday, Modi will visit Kaziranga to lay the foundation stone for the ₹6,957-crore elevated corridor project. He is also scheduled to virtually flag off two Amrit Bharat Express trains the Dibrugarh-Gomati Nagar (Lucknow) and Kamakhya-Rohtak services before addressing a public rally in Kaliabor.

During his previous visit on December 20-21, Modi inaugurated the new terminal of Guwahati international airport, unveiled a statue of Assam’s first Chief Minister Gopinath Bardoloi, and laid the foundation for a ₹10,601-crore brownfield ammonia-urea plant in Dibrugarh. He had also addressed rallies in Guwahati and Namrup ahead of the 2026 Assam assembly elections.
