MLA and Secretary General of the Naga People’s Front (NPF), Achumbemo Kikon, has stressed the need for Naga unity and strong regional politics, saying the merger of regional parties reflects the will of the people.
Addressing party workers at the inauguration of the NPF Meluri Division office yesterday, Kikon said the unification was aimed at ending political fragmentation.
He said the merger, effected on October 21, 2025, was completed within three months and recognised by the Election Commission of India, which has also named Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as NPF President.
