The MGNREGA Bachao Sangram was successfully organised at Phungyar Bazar in Kamjong district of Manipur, reaffirming the Congress party’s commitment to protecting rural employment and workers’ rights.

The programme was led by Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President K. Meghachandra Singh and attended by AICC Secretary charge of Manipur, Christopher Tilak. Working President, MPCC, Victor Keishing, General Secretaries Jeeten Singh, Wahidur Rahaman and W. Shyamjai Singh, ST Department Chairman, MPCC, Wungpam Raikhan, and Phungyar Block Congress Committee President Amo Samuel were also present.

During the programme, party leaders interacted with local residents and reiterated their resolve to restore MGNREGA, ensure timely payment of wages, and uphold the dignity of labour. They also voiced strong opposition to policies that, according to them, undermine rural livelihoods.
