Elderly Woman Killed In Wild Elephant Attack In Assam’s West Karbi Anglong

Diphu, Jan 27: A 70-year-old woman was killed after being trampled by a wild elephant in West Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Tuesday, police said.

The incident occurred at Hijunglangsang village under the jurisdiction of Jirikideng police station. The victim, identified as Kasang Kropi, was returning from a religious programme along with a group of women when they encountered a herd of wild elephants.

According to police, one of the elephants attacked and trampled the woman, while the others in the group managed to flee to safety. She died on the spot due to the injuries sustained in the attack.
