Aritra Roy, a mountaineer from Tripura, has successfully climbed Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak outside Asia at 6,967.15 meters, on January 7, 2026. The solo expedition advances his ongoing quest to complete the Seven Summits challenge following his ascent of Mount Everest.
Roy undertook a 44-kilometer trek in harsh conditions, facing temperatures as low as -40°C, snowstorms, and blizzards. He spent 45 minutes at the summit before descending safely.
“The climb tested my physical and mental limits, but by trusting my instincts, I overcame the toughest obstacles,” Roy said, dedicating his achievement to all who dream big and persevere.
