Assam Congress Issues Show-Cause Notice To Joint Secretary Over Remarks On Ex-President Bhupen Kumar Borah

Guwahati, Feb 6: The Assam Congress has issued a show-cause notice to its joint secretary, Panjak Saikia, for allegedly making “inappropriate remarks” in the media about former state party president Bhupen Kumar Borah.

The notice was issued on Thursday by Assam Congress general secretary (organisation) Bipul Gogoi, instructing Saikia to submit his response within 24 hours.

“It has come to the notice of Assam PCC President Gaurav Gogoi that you made inappropriate comments in the media on matters related to former PCC President and Chairman Campaign Committee Bhupen Kumar Borah,” the notice stated.
It further warned that Saikia must explain why disciplinary action should not be taken against him for the alleged violation of party discipline.

The notice was shared with the media on Friday.
