Ensure Strong Field Monitoring for Effective Delivery of Welfare Schemes, Says CM Dr. Manik Saha

Agartala, February 11, 2026: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday highlighted the need for field officers to intensify ground-level monitoring to ensure effective implementation of government welfare schemes and timely resolution of public grievances.

Addressing a high-level review meeting on the state’s task monitoring system at the Secretariat’s 2nd Conference Hall, Dr. Saha stressed that regular field visits and supervision are essential to maximize benefits for citizens. He stated that proactive engagement by officials would help in identifying challenges and resolving issues more efficiently.

Directing District Magistrates and departmental officials to play a more active role through the ‘Amar Portal’, the Chief Minister emphasized prompt redressal of complaints. He also instructed the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) to remain vigilant to prevent illegally evicted footpath traders from reoccupying public spaces, suggesting the formation of a dedicated surveillance team and enhanced daily monitoring.

Dr. Saha further called for greater transparency in the Jal Jeevan Mission and regular supply of safe drinking water. He advised that city garbage collection be carried out during night hours to ease traffic congestion.

The Chief Minister also directed strict action against illegal sand mining, emphasized environmental protection measures by the Pollution Control Board, and urged improved coordination with the BSF to maintain peace in border areas. Senior officials, including secretaries, District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police, attended the meeting physically and virtually.
