Agartala, February 11, 2026: Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday strongly opposed the all-India bandh called by 10 left-wing trade unions, terming it “destructive” and detrimental to the country’s development.

Responding to queries from journalists regarding the bandh scheduled for tomorrow to press for various workers’ demands, the Chief Minister said such actions would “create obstacles in the path of the nation’s progress.” He alleged that although the Left parties claim to champion the cause of workers, they fail to protect their real interests.

“Bandhs in the name of workers only create unrest in the daily lives of working people and the common citizens,” Dr. Saha said. He further claimed that the general public would reject the shutdown call.

Meanwhile, the General Administration Department (GAD) has issued a notification stating that normal functioning will continue in all government offices, courts, and government-acquired institutions across the state tomorrow. Government employees and staff of acquired institutions and organizations have been directed to attend their duties as usual.

The GAD has also instructed the concerned authorities to submit reports on employee attendance in various departments, acquired institutions, and organizations by 12 noon tomorrow.

The administration has conveyed a clear message that necessary measures will be taken to ensure uninterrupted services and maintain normalcy across the state during the proposed bandh.
