S. Phangnon Konyak, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament from Nagaland, said the Union Budget 2026 reflects a balance between economic growth and social inclusion while participating in a discussion in the Rajya Sabha.
Speaking during the debate in the Upper House, Konyak described the budget as outlining priorities related to equitable development, social inclusion, and efforts to strengthen India’s global competitiveness. She stated that the financial proposals focus on both development goals and long-term sustainability.
Konyak also referred to the leadership of Narendra Modi in guiding national development plans and noted the presentation of the budget by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. According to her remarks in Parliament, the budget aims to balance economic ambition with social welfare considerations.
During the discussion, she highlighted provisions related to the textile sector, mental health infrastructure, and increased support for the Northeast region, stating that these measures could contribute to regional development and sectoral growth.
