Meghalaya Cabinet Approves Revised Estimates For National Games Infrastructure; Clears Flood Plain Zoning Bill

The Cabinet meeting chaired by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday approved revised estimates for key sports infrastructure projects in preparation for the upcoming National Games of India, which will be hosted by the state.

According to the decisions taken at the meeting, the revised estimates cover major projects including the Aquatic and Tennis Complex at Umsawli, the Hostel Block at Umsawli, the Sunny Hills facility in Tura, and the Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma Athletic Stadium. These projects are part of the state’s preparations to host the national sporting event.

The Cabinet also approved the Meghalaya Flood Plain Zoning Bill 2026. The proposed legislation is aimed at regulating and managing development activities in flood-prone areas of the state.
