Agartala, February 17, 2026: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Tuesday launched a sharp attack against those propagating the ideas of “Tipraland” and “Greater Tipraland,” alleging that such slogans are being used to mislead innocent tribal communities.

Addressing a massive tribal gathering at Demdum in Unakoti district, the Chief Minister accused certain groups of repeatedly confusing people by raising demands under different names.

He said that while holding power in the Autonomous District Council (ADC), development had been reduced to a mockery. “Democracy has been trampled upon—sometimes by attacking vehicles, sometimes by targeting homes, and sometimes by tearing down flags to create an atmosphere of anarchy in an attempt to obstruct the government,” Saha remarked.

The Chief Minister further claimed that such activities are damaging the state’s peace and social harmony. Urging people to remain vigilant, he called for unity against conspiracies. “For the sake of development and the protection of democracy, everyone must stand together against these divisive agendas,” he said.
