Agartala, February 19, 2026: The Budget Session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly will commence on March 13, according to an official notification issued on Wednesday. As per tradition, the first session of the calendar year will open with the Governor’s address. During this session, the state government is scheduled to present the Budget for the financial year 2026–27.

The notification regarding the ninth session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly was released by Assembly Secretary A.K. Nath on behalf of Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu.

Meanwhile, ahead of the upcoming Budget Session, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy convened a high-level meeting at the state secretariat on Wednesday. The meeting, attended by senior officials from various departments, reviewed the progress of projects and commitments announced in last year’s Budget speech for 2025–26.

In a social media post, the minister stated that the discussions focused on the implementation status of several initiatives announced in the previous Budget. He emphasized that the meeting was significant in the run-up to the new Budget session, as it provided an opportunity to assess the ground-level execution of earlier promises.

Sources indicated that the exercise was aimed at ensuring accountability and evaluating the real progress of schemes before the presentation of the 2026–27 Budget next month.
