Itanagar, Feb 19: Arunachal Pradesh Governor KT Parnaik on Thursday greeted residents ahead of the state’s 39th Statehood Day on February 20, 1987, urging them to preserve the environment, maintain peace, and strengthen community ties.

Reflecting on the journey from ancestral struggles to present opportunities, Parnaik credited the courage and unity of forebears for shaping modern Arunachal Pradesh. He highlighted the government’s focus on citizen-centric development, including improvements in education, healthcare, housing, connectivity, and civic services to raise living standards across urban and rural areas.

The governor noted steady progress in human development, livelihoods, and quality of life, attributing these gains to the dedication and perseverance of the people. “As we honour our past, let us look ahead with confidence to a future of opportunity, innovation, and inclusive growth,” he said.

Parnaik called on residents to act as stewards of the state’s natural landscapes, empower youth, promote self-reliance, and pursue sustainable development. “Let us move forward together with unity, purpose, and optimism to build a stronger Arunachal and contribute to a prosperous India,” he added.
