Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Attends 40th Statehood Day Celebration At Itanagar

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday attended the 40th Statehood Day celebration of Arunachal Pradesh held at IG Park in Itanagar, marking four decades since the state attained full-fledged statehood.

The programme was held in the presence of Governor K. T. Parnaik, along with ministers, legislators, officials, and members of the public. Cultural performances, including traditional dances, were presented during the celebration, reflecting the state’s diverse heritage and unity.

Addressing the occasion, Khandu said the Statehood Day celebration was an opportunity to reflect on Arunachal Pradesh’s journey of progress and development while reaffirming commitment towards future growth.

The Chief Minister also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending greetings to the people of the state on the occasion. He said the Prime Minister’s message acknowledged the spirit, patriotism, and innovation of Arunachal Pradesh, from border villages to remote mountain regions.

Highlighting development initiatives undertaken in the state, Khandu referred to programmes such as the Vibrant Villages Programme, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, and the Ujala Scheme. He also mentioned major infrastructure projects, including the Sela Tunnel and Donyi Polo Airport, as contributing to improved connectivity and regional development.

He further noted efforts aimed at preserving cultural and spiritual heritage through the digitisation of rare manuscripts under the Gyan Bharatam Mission.

Khandu reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to work towards inclusive development and a prosperous future for Arunachal Pradesh while safeguarding its cultural traditions.
