Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met a three-member delegation from the Manipur government led by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh at the Prime Minister’s Office in Seva Teerth, New Delhi.
The delegation included Manipur’s two Deputy Chief Ministers — Nemcha Kipgen of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Losii Dikho of the Naga People’s Front (NPF). Kipgen, who represents Kangpokpi district, is the first woman to serve as Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur.

This was the first meeting between Chief Minister Khemchand and the Prime Minister since he assumed office on February 4.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the initiatives undertaken by the new state government to restore peace and promote harmony in Manipur. He also sought the Centre’s support for strengthening women empowerment initiatives across both the hill and valley regions of the state.
The Chief Minister and his deputies extended a formal invitation to the Prime Minister to visit Manipur.
