Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday inaugurated the Kaziranga Orchid Garden at Kohora, Golaghat, in a move aimed at boosting eco-tourism and promoting the region’s cultural heritage.
The garden, spread across 20 bighas, features over 900 indigenous and exotic orchid species housed in seven modern glasshouses. The facility also includes a children’s park and a 500-seat cultural stage.
On the same occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Kaziranga Heritage Resort, which is expected to support local cuisine, cottage industries, and employment generation.
Dr. Sarma also dedicated several public infrastructure projects to the people, reflecting the government’s focus on comprehensive development across multiple sectors.
