Agartala, March 05, 2026: Tripura Police have arrested Raja Saha, a fugitive accused in a Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) case, who had been absconding for a long time.
According to police sources, acting on a secret tip-off, a special drive was conducted late last night in areas adjacent to the police station. During the operation, Raja Saha was apprehended from the Shani Mandir area near East Agartala Police Station. He is a resident of the Town Pratapgarh area of the city and had been evading arrest in connection with an NDPS case registered in 2025.
Confirming the development, Officer-in-Charge Subrata Debnath of Purba Police Station said, “Based on specific information, our team conducted a late-night operation and successfully arrested the accused from the Shani Mandir area. He had been absconding for a long period in connection with an NDPS case.”
He further informed that the accused will be produced before the court today. “We have initiated a detailed investigation into the entire matter, and further legal procedures are underway,” Debnath added.
The arrest is being seen as a major step in the ongoing crackdown against drug-related offences in the city. Police sources indicated that further investigation may reveal more details regarding the accused’s involvement and possible links in the case.
