TRLM CEO Highlights Governance Model at National Conference in Jammu

Agartala, March 05, 2026: Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), represented the state at the National Governance Conference on Holistic Development of Districts – Transforming Governance for Viksit Bharatheld in Jammu.

The conference was organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India. The event brought together senior administrators and policymakers from across the country to deliberate on innovative governance models aimed at achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Addressing the first session of the conference, Chakma shared his experiences and best governance practices implemented during his tenure as District Magistrate of Gomati district in Tripura. He highlighted how a balanced focus on qualitative, quantitative and behavioural aspects of governance led to measurable improvements in public service delivery.

He elaborated on key interventions in housing, healthcare, maternal and child welfare, and robust grievance redressal mechanisms, stating that a people-centric approach and data-driven monitoring significantly enhanced administrative efficiency. “Holistic development requires convergence of schemes and active community participation to ensure last-mile delivery,” he emphasized.

Notably, the initiatives undertaken in Gomati district earned the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration, recognizing the district’s exemplary performance in governance and public service.

The conference served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange, reinforcing the importance of innovation, accountability, and inclusive development in transforming districts into engines of national growth.
