Manipur Police on Saturday organised an awareness programme at Takyel Khongbal in Imphal West district focusing on crimes against women and children in connection with the ongoing Yaoshang festival.

The programme was held as part of an ongoing public sensitisation campaign aimed at raising awareness about crimes targeting women and children, particularly during the festive period. Police officials highlighted the importance of community vigilance and encouraged residents to report any incidents of harassment, abuse or other offences.

During the session, participants were also informed about preventive measures and safety practices to ensure that the festival is celebrated in a safe and responsible manner.

The initiative forms part of Manipur Police’s broader effort to promote public awareness and strengthen community participation in preventing crimes against women and children during the Yaoshang celebrations.
