Agartala, March 07, 2026: With the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections drawing closer, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its organizational activities to consolidate support in the hill areas. The party is holding a series of meetings and programs aimed at strengthening its grassroots network and ensuring electoral success.
On Saturday, a key organizational meeting was convened at the state BJP headquarters, bringing together tribal leaders, legislators, and ministers. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, State BJP President and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, BJP Tribal Morcha President Parimal Debbarma, State General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, along with several office bearers of the Tribal Morcha, were present.
Speaking after the meeting, Chief Minister Saha emphasized that the session was focused on election preparedness, organizational expansion, booth-level activities, and spreading the party’s message in tribal-dominated areas. He urged party workers and supporters to highlight the state government’s development initiatives and to work collectively to strengthen the organization at the grassroots.
“The ADC elections are crucial. Our workers must remain united and ensure that the party’s message reaches every household in the hills. With people’s support, BJP can achieve a strong result,” Saha said.
Political observers note that the ADC polls have already heightened the political temperature in the state. The BJP, keen to secure a favorable outcome, has begun mobilizing its organizational machinery well ahead of the elections.
