Arunachal: ‘BAIC Connect Itanagar’ Organised To Discuss Architecture And Infrastructure Development

Itanagar, Mar 12: BAIC Exhibition & Events organized the “BAIC Connect Itanagar” programme in Itanagar, bringing together architects, engineers, government officials, builders and industry representatives to discuss architecture, urban planning and infrastructure development in Arunachal Pradesh.

The event was held in collaboration with the Architects Association of Arunachal Pradesh, whose members participated in the programme.

Among the dignitaries present were Likha Nari, Tanyok Taga, Kirki Ori, Gambya Padu, Likha Suraj and Jumba Basar.

Architects and experts who attended the programme included Techi Gubin, Jini, Amarnath CB, Mahesh Bangad, Atop Lego, Dibjyoti Baruah, Mriganka Hazarika and Rana Mahanta, along with architects, civil engineers, builders, contractors and consultants from the region.

Several technical sessions were held during the programme focusing on topics related to construction and planning in the Northeast.
Dr. Atop Lego delivered a session on seismic resilience in hill-state construction, discussing earthquake-resistant design and safety standards for infrastructure in the region.

Architect Amarnath CB presented a session on building information modelling (BIM) and its application in construction projects. Architect Mahesh Bangad spoke on sustainable and climate-responsive architecture, discussing design approaches suited to the terrain and climate of the Northeast.

An urban development round table discussion was also held, involving a senior architect, a Public Works Department official, a town planner and a contractor. The discussion covered aspects related to architecture and urban planning in Arunachal Pradesh, including policy, implementation and coordination among different stakeholders.

Industry partners supporting the event included Jindal Steel & Power as the title sponsor and VOX as associate partner. Other partners included Tama Fabrication, Eastern Engineers & Consultants, Jindal Stainless as branding partner, and supporting partners Tostem and Fenesta.

Millee Sinha thanked the architects’ association, government departments, industry partners and professionals for their participation in the programme.

Neha Malhotra also acknowledged the support of participants and partners, stating that BAIC Connect aims to continue organising similar platforms for knowledge exchange and professional interaction in the Northeast.

According to the organisers, the programme was intended to encourage discussions and collaboration among professionals and government stakeholders involved in architecture and infrastructure development in Arunachal Pradesh.
