Agartala, March 13, 2026: Tripura Gramin Bank has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Government of Tripura, Department of Industries and Commerce, in recognition of its outstanding banking support under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PMFME) for the period 2020–2026.
The recognition was presented during the launch of the Tripura Women Entrepreneurship Policy 2025–2030 and a State-level programme on the PMFME scheme held at Pragna Bhavan on March 12. The event took place in the presence of Santana Chakma, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura.

Officials stated that Tripura Gramin Bank achieved the highest number of sanctioned and disbursed cases under the PMFME scheme in the state, reflecting its proactive role in strengthening grassroots entrepreneurship and supporting the growth of micro food processing enterprises.
Highlighting the bank’s contribution, representatives said the institution has played a key role in promoting self-employment opportunities, encouraging local entrepreneurship, and strengthening rural livelihoods across the state. Through financial assistance and institutional support, the bank has also contributed to value addition in the agri-food sector and overall economic growth in rural areas.

Expressing gratitude for the recognition, officials of Tripura Gramin Bank said the award reflects the dedicated efforts of the bank’s staff, the trust of entrepreneurs and customers, and the strong partnership with government agencies in implementing development-oriented schemes.
They reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs, supporting small businesses, and promoting inclusive and sustainable economic development in Tripura. Officials also thanked the Department of Industries and Commerce for acknowledging the bank’s efforts in implementing the PMFME scheme and supporting the growth of micro food processing enterprises in the state.
