Security forces carried out a series of coordinated operations across Manipur on Saturday, arresting four individuals in separate incidents, including a suspected militant, an alleged arms carrier, a drug possessor and a suspected bank burglar.

In the most significant security-related operation, security personnel apprehended a suspected member of the proscribed outfit PREPAK from Sawombung Khunjao under Lamlai Police Station in Imphal East district. The arrested individual has been identified as Angom Sana Meitei, also known as Shaymchand (58), a resident of Torbung Sabal Leikai in Bishnupur district who was currently residing at Hiyangthang.

In another operation at Laipham Khunou Mayai Leikai under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West district, forces arrested Sagolshem Boicha Singh (42), alias Tayai, of Sawombung Gate in Imphal East. A .32 pistol, two magazines, ten rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card were recovered from his possession, indicating alleged involvement in illegal arms activities.
Meanwhile, at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal West district, security personnel seized 1.002 kilograms of contraband opium from Hefajuddin Mayangmayum (42) of Komlakhong Makha Leikai. A mobile phone, an Aadhaar card and an ATM card were also recovered from him.

In a separate incident in Moreh, authorities arrested Kishan Chauhan (29) of Moreh Bus Parking, Ngamkhai Veng, after he was found inside the premises of UCO Bank following a break-in attempt. Police recovered an audio sound box and an air conditioning unit reportedly stolen in an earlier incident, along with electric batteries and other items he had allegedly attempted to steal.

All four individuals have been taken into custody and further investigations are underway.
