K. T. Parnaik on Monday launched the Business Transformation Programme for Micro and Small Entrepreneurs at the State Banquet Hall in Itanagar. The event was attended by a large number of entrepreneurs.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor urged entrepreneurs to create productive assets that contribute to the state’s development. He encouraged them to explore opportunities in sectors such as tourism and hospitality, waste management, coaching for competitive examinations, preservation of local languages, and community service kiosks.
Parnaik said that along with finance and infrastructure, enterprise growth also depends on capabilities in business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and the use of modern technologies.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Confederation of Indian Industry, and Volvo Group India for organizing the programme. The Governor also welcomed the proposal by the Confederation of Indian Industry to establish a Multi Skill Training Institute in the state.
Highlighting the sector’s role, the Governor said that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises contribute nearly 30 percent to India’s GDP. He added that nearly 50,000 such enterprises are registered in Arunachal Pradesh across various sectors.
