UPPL Chief Pramod Boro To Contest Assam Assembly Elections From Tamulpur Constituency

Guwahati, Mar 17: United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) President Pramod Boro, who was recently elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha as a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate, will contest the upcoming Assam Assembly elections from the 43 No. Tamulpur (ST) constituency.

The party released its first list of candidates for the elections scheduled on April 9. Alongside Boro, the candidates include Aninda Basumatary from 1 No. Gossaigaon, Raju Kumar Narzary from 2 No. Dotma (ST), Lawrence Islary from 3 No. Kokrajhar (ST), Nerswn Boro from 45 No. Bhergaon, Dipen Boro from 46 No. Udalguri (ST), and Kamalsingh Narzary from 20 No. Bijni.

The list was approved by the UPPL Central Working Committee based on the recommendation of the Core Committee, according to an official notification issued by UPPL General Secretary (Administration) Raju Kumar Narzary.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the poll schedule on Sunday for Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry assemblies. Assam and Kerala will vote in a single phase on April 9, with counting of votes scheduled for May 4.
