In a series of coordinated operations carried out on March 17, 2026, security forces recovered a cache of arms and explosives and arrested three active cadres of different proscribed militant outfits from various districts of Manipur.

During a search operation at Ithing Mamang ground area under Keibul Lamjao Police Station in Bishnupur district, security personnel recovered one .303 rifle with a magazine, one .32 mm pistol with a magazine, one No. 36 hand grenade, one locally made bomb, twelve live rounds of ammunition of different calibres, fifteen INSAS empty cartridges, and one bulletproof plate.

In a separate operation near Irilbung High School at Bamon Kampu under Irilbung Police Station in Imphal East district, security forces apprehended an active cadre of KCP (PWG), identified as Mutum Ranjan Singh alias Mangal (46), a resident of Wangkhei Ayangpalli. A mobile phone and a scooter were seized from his possession.

Meanwhile, an active cadre of RPF/PLA, identified as Elangbam Abinash alias Rakesh (21) of Hiyanglam Makha Leikai in Kakching district, was arrested from Singtom area under Sugnu Police Station.

In another operation, security forces arrested an active cadre of PREPAK (Pro), identified as Taorem Arunkumar Singh (32) of Chanam Sandrok Makha Leikai in Imphal East district, from Canchipur area under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West district. A mobile phone and an Aadhaar card were recovered from him.

Security forces continue to intensify operations across the state to curb militant activities and ensure public safety.
