Mangan, Mar 18: The ‘Connect to CM’ Benefits Distribution Programme was conducted on Wednesday at the Block Administrative Centre (BAC) in Passingdang, North Sikkim, where verified beneficiaries received employment orders, financial assistance, and educational support.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial offering of khadas to guests by Block Development Officer Dr. Mahendra Tamang. In his address, the BDO outlined the objectives of the initiative and detailed the planning, monitoring, and verification processes undertaken to identify eligible beneficiaries. He stated that the programme has been implemented since October 2025 to extend support to deserving individuals.
Principal Director from the Chief Minister’s Office, Sherap Chopel Katuk Bhutia, attended the programme and handed over appointment orders and financial assistance to beneficiaries.
Tshering Ongmu Bhutia from Tingvong village received an employment order under a category for families without members in government service. Sangay Thinlay Lepcha was provided assistance under the Chief Minister’s Self Employment Scheme, while Tencho Lepcha, a postgraduate student of Sikkim University, received the Chief Minister’s Education Scholarship.
Officials stated that the initiative provides a platform for individuals to directly communicate their concerns and seek assistance.
Beneficiaries also wrote messages to the Chief Minister on a “Wall of Gratitude” during the programme.
The event was attended by local representatives, officials from various departments, BAC staff, and members of the public.
