Agartala, March 21, 2026: Brigadier Nishant Chandel, DIG, Headquarters 21 Sector Assam Rifles, visited the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Sabroom ICP on Friday to assess operational preparedness ahead of its imminent commissioning.

During the visit, Premasis Deb, Civil Consultant of the project, along with officials from the Land Ports Authority of India, briefed the DIG on the ICP’s layout, infrastructure, and functional modalities.

Brig Chandel also interacted with personnel of the Border Security Force, focusing on key security aspects, anticipated challenges following operationalisation, and measures required to ensure smooth and secure functioning of the facility. He commended the personnel for their professionalism and encouraged them to maintain high standards of vigilance.

Strategically located in South Tripura, the Sabroom ICP is poised to significantly boost cross-border connectivity and trade with Bangladesh, further strengthening economic ties and regional cooperation.
