Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Saturday inaugurated the Agrivision Agri-Youth Parliament–2026 at Central Agricultural University under the theme “Futuristic Agriculture for North East Bharat: Sustainability, Innovations and Opportunities.”
The three-day event focuses on advancing research, innovation, and technological solutions in agriculture and allied sectors, with participation from students, scientists, researchers, and entrepreneurs.
Prior to the inaugural session, the Governor visited exhibition stalls along with CAU Vice-Chancellor Anupam Mishra, interacting with innovators and appreciating displays of indigenous products and agri-technologies. Dipjyoti Rajkhowa and other dignitaries were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Bhalla highlighted the importance of empowering youth and leveraging innovation to transform agriculture in the North East. He noted that Manipur’s rich biodiversity and indigenous products such as Chakhao, Kachai Lemon, and Tamenglong Orange hold strong potential for global recognition with proper value addition and market access.
Emphasising the need for climate-resilient practices, improved infrastructure, and stronger market linkages, the Governor expressed confidence that the event would foster meaningful dialogue and partnerships for sustainable agricultural development in the region.
