Manipur Police and security forces arrested 16 individuals, including ten cadres of the banned outfit People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak-RA, during coordinated search operations across multiple districts of the state, officials said on Tuesday.
The arrests were made on Monday as part of a counter-insurgency operation conducted along the Indo-Myanmar border in Tengnoupal district.
Among the ten PREPAK (RA) members apprehended, five were minors. Officials stated that the minors are being handled in accordance with procedures laid down under the Juvenile Justice Act.
In a separate development, police also arrested two cadres belonging to factions of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party—Nongdrenkhomba and Apunba—from Imphal East district on Monday, according to a police statement.
